TEXTILES

Textiles are a natural progression of my self-expression.

Since India, I have fallen in love with handloom and see it for what it is, a way of life.

So far I have hand blocked and naturally dyed silks and cotton. I'm weaving with silk, cotton, banana, jute, and hemp. I'm fascinated by plant fibres, their journey from cultivation to cloth, and the resources to use in dying that we have in our own backyards. I know that many people have gone before me but I am exuberant with my interpretation of familiar techniques because I haven't grown up with how it should be done, I just do it how it works for me. I want to learn more and have my art live in the cloth.

I create my textiles as one-off pieces but can be commissioned to create commercial or domestic textiles.
